I have a variety of interests. After 23 years of active duty in the U.S. Army and 10 years with the Sheriff’s Department, my wife and I have had enough drama in our lives. I will soon retire and she will retire from her job in a couple years. It is time for us to enjoy our golden years. We want to travel to see places we have lived in the past and to see places we have yearned to see most of our lives, visiting family (grand-kids) and renewing our connection with old friends.

As we travel I will continue to drag out my trusty metal detector in an effort to recover bits of history and perhaps to uncover that “pot-of-gold” that all metal detector enthusiast seek. I’ll soon have plenty of time to enjoy my hobby and to sharpen my skills in preparation for our travels. I will blog as I learn and will give you my take on the equipment used. Of course I will also share with my readers my finds.
